Where can you see
takahe? Small numbers of
takahe are held for public display at the Wildlife Centre (Te Anau) and at the National
Wildlife Centre (Mount Bruce, near Masterton). |
Four offshore islands are also home to takahe:
1. Maud Island, Marlborough Sounds
2. Mana Island, west coast north of Wellington
3. Kapiti Island, north of Mana, Kapiti Coast
