Set netting will be banned along the North Island's west coast in an effort to save the North Island Hector's dolphin. A big thank you goes out to all the KCC members who wrote letters asking the government to make this decision - You CAN make a difference!

 

KCC members present Hector's dolphin letters to the Minister of Conservation

There are only about 100 North Island Hector's dolphins in the whole world! They in danger of becoming extinct.

Wellington KCC members presented letters written by KCC members to the Minister of Conservation, Sandra Lee. The letters asked the Minister to help Hector's dolphin by banning the use of setnets where the North Island Hector's dolphins live.
